About This Service
The "everything else" for me has developed over the years. As a proud mama to twp pit bulls (Bonnie & Larrie), I adore photographing your pets. As a wedding photographer for over a decade, my eye and heart started in weddings, but now I prefer to shoot smaller ones or vow renewals. As a former employee in the corporate world, headshots are fun for me too - but creative ones! Contact me if you have something in mind. I am happy to customize a session for you.

FAQs
Where do your photo sessions take place?
Although I live in Edwardsville, I grew up in St. Louis and know various locations on both sides of the river. If you have a location you have your heart set on, I am more than happy to shoot there. By the same token, I pride myself on unique locations that I have discovered in the past twenty years - from park-like to urban. I do not aim for trends or replicate other people's work, but rather search for locations that reflect who I'm shooting and where they are comfortable. Some of my favorite locations have been suggestions from clients.
How many images are in a typical session?
Unlike other photographers, I will not give you a set number. Narrowing down photos has been my weakness since I began my career. Because I like to capture emotions and funny moments, I retain a lot of photos. This does create more work for me, but I would be remiss if I did not deliver these images to you. A typical hour long session will result in 100+ images.
What should we wear?
That is the million dollar question. The most important thing is that you are comfortable with what you are wearing. Kids in itchy sweaters are not happy subjects. Pick neutral colors (cream, gray, denim, black, beige) to work in with a few colors of the same palette. Avoid bright white dresses and shirts as well as worn tennis shoes and clothes with large logos. Patterns are fine, just avoid vivid ones like Hawaiian prints. Layered looks also photograph well. Think cardigans, jewelry and accessories. Clients often send me photos of what they are planning and I'm happy to offer guidance.
Are there any benefits to being a returning client?
Besides the ease of returning to a familiar face, you will receive a $25 discount for all sessions one hour or more.
What areas do you serve? Are there any additional fees we should consider?
I serve the general metropolitan St. Louis area including the metro east. If the location is over 40 miles from Edwardsville, IL, you will incur a small fee based on the additional mileage. Extended family sessions are charged the typical session fee, but an additional $75 fee will be incurred for each individual family that would like to do a mini session of their own (approximately 15-20 minutes).
Why is there limited availability on mini (half hour) sessions?
I find it very difficult to limit my shooting to thirty minutes. I will capture more personality the longer the session, however, I understand there are times you want a simple session as attention spans may be short :)
Should I bring my dog?
Yes. Yes, you should ;)
