Heyyyy, it's Sherry
I've seen a lot of change and growth in over twenty years as a photographer. Not just in the people I photograph, but within myself as well. I noticed along the way that my passion has followed my stage in life. In my late twenties, I started my career photographing weddings. It evolved to focusing on newborn sessions when my first clients had babies. Photographing families then flooded my calendar when I started a family of my own. Now that my daughter Whitney has graduated from high school and my son Jake is a sophomore, senior sessions feel especially meaningful and tug my heartstrings. I still cherish each and every stage of life, but my photography is led by where my heart lies. Relatability establishes an instant connection with my clients, and that connection is where the magic lies. It's also why I easily consider my clients friends.
Perhaps the biggest event in my life that affected the way I see things is my lymphoma diagnosis and remission (5 years!) A renewed sense of strength, purpose, hope, and drive emerged within me. It pushes me to create and present the true essence and importance of life through my imagery. I photograph the moments that matter - the emotion, the connection - now more than ever.
